Tommy Rowe is the Airport Manager and a familiar face in the Lowcountry. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Tommy grew up in Walterboro and graduated from Walterboro High School in 1961. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1967 from The University of South Carolina. Tommy went on to serve his country for six years in the United States Navy as a jet pilot and flight instructor. Afterwards, he worked at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Charleston. Some people remember the days when Tommy owned and operated Brown Hardware and Furniture Company in Walterboro. Others know Tommy from working for Lott Parish and Associates, an engineering and planning firm in Columbia. But most people know Tommy as a licensed real estate agent (since 1975), and owner of The Rowe Company, a full service real estate company (since 1982). Still others recognize Tommy as a warm and friendly face from the Lowcountry Regional Airport.
Roger Medlin is the Operations Manager at Lowcountry Regional Airport. A Multi-Engine Commercial Pilot, Roger enjoys aviation and loves flying. Born in High Point, North Carolina, Roger is a graduate of High Point Central High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Jacksonville Theological Seminary and Doctor of Divinity degree from Southern Bible Institute and Seminary. A former pastor for 26 years, Roger serves as Air Force Auxiliary Chaplain at Charleston Air Force Base and as Chaplain for the Civil Air Patrol, where he was honored as Civil Air Patrol South Carolina Squadron Chaplain of the Year. Roger is married to Katherine. They have three grown children and six grandchildren. One of Roger’s favorite activities listed on his Facebook page is spending time with his family.
John Hood’s experience in aircraft maintenance is a vital resource at Lowcountry Regional Airport. John was born and raised in the state of New York where he lived until 2004. John has been active in aircraft maintenance since 1968. In 2004, John relocated to Walterboro and began working full time at Lowcountry Regional Airport inspecting and maintaining aircraft. John and his wife Elizabeth have been married for almost thirty years. They have two sons, one daughter and eight grandchildren.
